On Saturday, December 7th, Love ‘Toti joined forces with an impressive alliance, including AfriForum, the 1st Amanzimtoti Scouts, Tidy Towns, Toti Conservancy, Sapphire Coast Tourism, and the Ethekwini Municipality, for a transformative Promenade Rehabilitation event. The effort kicked off with vibrant energy as the 1st Amanzimtoti Scouts eagerly tackled a particularly neglected verge, displaying remarkable enthusiasm and dedication.

The collaboration saw various groups each playing a pivotal role: Tidy Towns meticulously worked from the beach side back to the lagoon end of the Promenade, while AfriForum enhanced the area by trimming overgrown grass near the lagoon steps and revamping an unsightly pole in the circle, which will soon boast a fresh coat of paint thanks to a generously donated cherry picker from Cherrypickers KZN.
Complementing these efforts, Kingsway High School added a touch of artistry with beautiful mural paintings that adorn the circle wall, enriching the visual appeal of the space. The Ethekwini Municipality provided essential support by supplying refuse bags and removing all debris, ensuring the Promenade was left in pristine condition.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Zinhle Shenge, Park District Supervisor, for her invaluable support and guidance throughout the project.
Our deepest gratitude extends to every member of the ‘Toti community who contributed to this successful day. Your collective effort has not only beautified the Promenade but also reinforced the spirit of community and positive change in Amanzimtoti.
