We all dream of thriving communities! Places we can be proud of, neighborhoods that are safe for our children to play in, opportunities for our people, no matter their background, to earn an honest living or build their dream business, and a collective will to care for the poor and forge a path for future generations that inspires hope. This dream is only possible when we choose to step off the sidelines and become the solution.
Love Cities aims to catalyse a movement of ordinary people, united behind a common vision and inspired by a strong belief in the good of humanity, to come together to restore our communities and bring lasting social transformation.
With a proven model of sustainable development, we seek to provide a support structure for Nation-builders to launch healthy non-profit organisations that unite all sectors of society for positive change. We are set on building a learning community focused on discovering best-practice models for investment and securing partnerships that create meaningful impact.
Founded by entrepreneur and community leader Matt Hogarty, Love Cities builds on the six-year success of Love Howick NPC. Love Howick’s sustainable interventions have empowered its community through skills development, environmental support, economic growth, and social enhancement. Recognizing a demand from other South African communities to emulate this success, Matt established Love Cities to guide them in implementing similar transformative programs.

Aimed at developing support structures and meeting the immediate needs of vulnerable communities with a heart to restore dignity to people. Using only good, quality second-hand clothing, each community sets up a reliable supply of donated goods for the good of others. This project can be paired with an urban vegetable garden to provide a sustainable food supply for impoverished communities. We suggest the inclusion of support programmes such as counselling and social support.
