Nottingham Road recently witnessed a significant Gender Based Violence (GBV) awareness campaign organized by the Notties SAPS, drawing support from over two hundred attendees. This initiative shines a light on a critical issue, as South Africa grapples with one of the highest GBV rates globally. The event emphasized the societal nature of GBV and the necessity of involving all community members, including men, in the pursuit of gender equality. Resources such as the 24-hour GBV National Command Centre and the Bright Sky SA app were highlighted to support those in need. Through education and awareness, Love Notties and community members are taking crucial steps towards combating this pervasive issue.
